Manchester Wolves News Release

MANCHESTER, N.H. (October 13, 2005) - The Manchester Wolves are proud to announce that record-setting QB Jake Eaton has signed a contract to play for the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League. Eaton's signing was announced this week by Orlando head coach Jay Gruden.

Eaton, a two-year veteran from Maine, had a stellar 2005 season for the Wolves, throwing for 4,066 yards and a team-record 88 touchdowns (T-3rd in af2) on his way to earning Second Team honors on the American Conference All-af2 team. In 16 games (all starts), the Rutland, VT native led the league in completion percentage (70.9) and finished second among the af2's elite in passer rating (122.1). Eaton was also a seven-time Offensive Player of the Game award winner and earned one af2 Offensive Player of the Week honor during his impressive 2005 campaign.

"I'm extremely happy for Jake because he's worked hard for this opportunity and he's earned it," Bennett said. "This year he played about as well as anyone has played the quarterback position at the af2 level. If given the opportunity, he can be a difference maker."

Eaton (6-2, 215) began his Arena Football career with the af2's Cape Fear Wildcats in 2004. In three appearances for the Wildcats, he completed 26-of-38 passes for five touchdowns and one interception. As a collegian, Eaton played in 40 games at Maine (1999-2002) and finished his career ranked third on the Black Bears' all-time list with 7,145 career passing yards. He also threw 58 touchdown passes and owns school records for career completion percentage (.594, 569-957) and highest completion percentage in one season (.659, 184-279, 2000).
