Manchester Wolves News Release
MANCHESTER, NH (November 23, 2004)- Being a fan of the Manchester Wolves ArenaFootball2 team can be rewarding, and on Thanksgiving Day six Wolves fans will get a chance to make the reward a monetary one by simply kicking a football.
The contest will take place during the halftime segment of the Turkey Bowl game where the State Champion Manchester Central Little Green face off against Manchester rivals Memorial.
The six contestants: Aaron Faucher, Mark Johnson, Todd Borchers, Mike Daigle, Josh Bruno and Kara Camavee, winners of the Fling-A-Football contest held last year at the Wolves home games, will be given the opportunity to win a twenty five thousand dollar prize.
"This is a chance to excite football fans in Manchester," said Don Winterton, a Wolves owner and former Turkey Bowl participant during his Central Little Green days. "More importantly though, it's a chance to give back to the city in a major way."
The Kick for Cash event will reward many institutions in Manchester. While the contestants kicking have a chance to win twenty five thousand dollars, six thousand dollars each will go Manchester High Schools Central, Memorial and West. Another seven thousand dollars would be donated to the Manchester' s Boys and Girls Club.
Manchester School System Athletic Director, Joe Raycraft calls the "Kick for Cash" a "great opportunity for Manchester schools and the Wolves to team up, and it will benefit all of the participants involved."
The Turkey Bowl is being held at Manchester's historic Gill Stadium, and the starting time is 10AM on November 25th. The "Kick for Cash" will be held at halftime of the game. The contestants involved in the halftime contest will get a chance to boot the football at a pre-determined target. They will be allowed to punt the ball or kick from a tee. This contest is just one of many ways the Manchester Wolves organization is working on increasing their work with Manchester's local community and worthwhile organizations.
