The arenafootball2 league office announced that OL/DL Ramal Faunteroy and OL/DL Adam Hoffman have been assigned to the Manchester Wolves professional af2 team for the 2007 season. Both players will be entering their second af2 season with the Wolves.
Faunteroy (6-3, 255), a Shepherd University graduate, will enter his second season with the Wolves after playing nine games during his rookie campaign which was slowed due to a shoulder injury. When healthy Faunteroy proved to be a quality pass rusher as he collected nine total tackles (one for loss) and four quarterback hurries. At Shepard University, the West Virginia native tallied 110 total tackles in 41 games. During his senior year in 2004, he was named WVIAC Defensive Player of the Week for his six-tackle (two for loss), one safety and fumble recovery effort against Virginia State. He finished the season second on the team in tackles-for-loss (12) and tied for third in sacks (4).
"Ramal could be a big factor in our success on defense this season," said Wolves Head Coach Ben Bennett. "If we can keep him healthy, he might be a double digit sack guy for us."
Hoffman (6-5, 345), a Shepherd College graduate, will also enter his second season with the Wolves after joining the club late in the year to help provide a stronger presence on the Offensive Line. In 2005, Hoffman participated in the Diamond Football League in Maryland and earned the regional "All-American" award for his efforts on the Offensive Line for the Frederick County Outlaws. The Knoxville, MD native also has an upcoming workout with the New York Football Giants of the National Football League.
"Adam has the real chance of being a dominant force in our league," added Bennett. "He has an almost freakish strength to him."
Faunteroy and Hoffman will join DS Travis Pugh, WR/DB Patrick Rouzard, OS Jarrail Jackson, QB Shawn Brady, K Connor McCormick, OL/DL Lamar Bryant, WR/LB Jesse Tupper and DS Patrick Horne on the Manchester Wolves 2007 active roster.
