Manchester Wolves News Release
The arenafootball2 league office announced this week that Jarrail Jackson (OS/KR) has been assigned to the Manchester Wolves, New Hampshire's professional af2 team.
Jackson (5'9", 195), comes to Manchester after an impressive two-year stay (2005, 2006) in Oklahoma City where he quickly established himself as one of the league's best Offensive Specialists. During his two seasons for the National Conference Yard Dawgz, Jackson led all team receivers in both catches and yards while also proving to be their main threat on kick returns. In total the Houston, TX native collected 264 receptions for 3,340 yards and 72 touchdowns as a wide receiver and 2,951 yards and six touchdowns as a kick returner. Jackson's all-purpose yards, 3,372 in 2005 and 3,221 in 2006, ranked him first in the league during both seasons and for his all-around efforts he was honored with two National Conference First Team ALL-af2 awards (Special Teams in 2005, Offensive Specialist in 2006).
"He's a huge addition for us, Christmas definitely came early for the Manchester Wolves this year," said Wolves Head Coach Ben Bennett. "The numbers he put up the last two seasons in Oklahoma City as a receiver and returner were nothing short of amazing, and anytime a guy comes to your team with his ability and track record for productivity you're pretty fortunate."
Prior to the af2, Jackson spent part of three seasons (2003-2005) in the Arena Football League playing for the Buffalo Destroyers and Austin Wranglers where he tallied 61 receptions for 641 yards and 9 touchdowns in 23 games. The quick-footed receiver also made a name for himself colliegiately during his four-year career (1996-99) at the University of Oklahoma, where he currently ranks second in Sooner school history with 1,238 punt return yards.
Currently Jackson has moved East, as he is employed by Dartmouth College as an Assistant Coach for the Big Green's wide receiver core.
"I'm happy Ben Bennett called me back and gave me an opportunity to play some football here in Manchester," said Jackson on joining the Wolves. "I'm excited to get my career started with this great organization and show their fans how I play - hard and fast."
