
Wolves Bolster Blueline with Phillips

The Chicago Wolves have signed defenseman DAVE PHILLIPS.
The 22-year-old defenseman made his North American hockey debut last season, when he appeared in 52 games with American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs, notching six assists and 52 penalty minutes. He also competed in six ECHL outings with the Toledo Walleye, tallying two points (G, A) and two penalty minutes.
The Beverley, England, native previously spent three seasons in the Elite Ice Hockey League with the Hull Stingrays and Belfast Giants from 2006 to 2009. He set career highs during the 2008-09 campaign with Belfast, collecting 18 assists and 25 points in 54 outings, which matched a career most.
PHILLIPS began his career with the Hull Stingrays in 2003, and competed with that team for two seasons in the British National League (2003 to 2005) and one in the English Premier League (2005-06). Overall, he amassed 48 points (13G, 35A) and 278 penalty minutes in five seasons with the Stingrays (2003 to 2008.)
In accordance with team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
