Chicago Wolves News Release
The Chicago Wolves have signed goaltender CRAIG KOWALSKI (Koh-WAHL-skee.)
The 27-year-old netminder shared the ECHL lead and matched a career-high with 29 wins and ranked fourth in the league with a career-best 2.33 goals-against average in 44 regular-season appearances with the Gwinnett Gladiators this year.
The Clinton Township, Mich., native, backstopped seven of Gwinnett's eight Kelly Cup Playoff tilts, posting a 4-3 mark with two shutouts, a 1.97 goals-against average and a .934 save percentage, before the squad was eliminated by the South Carolina Stingrays in the South Division Semifinal.
Overall, KOWALSKI has accrued an 83-36-12 record and a 2.59 goals-against average in 135 career ECHL tilts. He also appeared in 20 American Hockey League games for the Lowell Lock Monsters during the 2005-06 season, collecting six wins (6-11-3) and a 3.38 goals-against average.
In accordance with team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
