Wisconsin Wolfpack News Release

The Wisconsin Wolfpack are pleased to announce Ron Tyner as the Assistant General Manager/Interim General Manager of the team. Tyner enters his second season in the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) and his third year in indoor football overall.

Tyner worked as the Director of Football Operations and the offensive line coach for the Kalamazoo Xplosion of the CIFL during the 2008 season. He helped guide the Xplosion to a 13-2 record, Great Lakes Eastern Division title, Great Lakes Conference Championship, and a spot in the CIFL Championship game. He previously served as the assistant offensive line coach for the Grand Rapids Rampage of the Arena Football League (AFL) in 2007.

Tyner is looking forward to bringing quality indoor football to the Madison area.

"I am extremely excited about this opportunity with the Wolfpack," said Tyner. "We will do things the right way and provide a great product for our fans."

A 2008 graduate of Olivet College, Tyner earned a degree in sports and recreation management. He was a four-year starter and four-time letterman in college. Tyner started his collegiate playing career at Division II Saint Joseph's (Ind) College. After a red-shirt year in 2003, Tyner started all 11 games at offensive tackle and was named to the All-Conference (IFA) team in 2004, while contributing to a first place finish in the IFA. Tyner then transferred to Olivet College where he played from 2005-2007, most recently winning the MIAA Conference Championship in 2007. Tyner started 40 games total in his college career.

Tyner recognizes Madison as a great sports town and strives to bring the CIFL championship to Wisconsin's capital city.

"We are very lucky to be a part of such a great community here in Madison where the support for sports is second to none," Tyner noted enthusiastically. "We look forward to beginning our quest for the 2009 CIFL Championship."
