WNPQ-FM 95.9 Becomes Legends Radio Home

The Canton Legends of the Atlantic Indoor Football League (AIFL) and WNPQ-FM 95.9, New Philadelphia/Canton, known as "95.9 The Light", have reached an agreement to broadcast the entire 2005 season.

The first Riverhawks game to be broadcast will be the road opener Saturday April 23, 2005 as the Canton Legends travel to Johnstown to battle the Riverhawks at 7:05 p.m. The home Opener against the Raleigh Rebels will be broadcast on WDPN-AM 1310, Alliance due to a scheduling conflict. The remainder of the season will be broadcast on WNPQ-FM 95.9.

Legends owner Andrew Haines said, "The radio partnership with WNPQ is great for our organization. We are excited to have Todd and 95.9 The Light on board!"

Additionally fans can listen anywhere in the world on the internet at wnpwfm.com.

According to Todd Bartley, WNPQ Sports Director and play-by-play voice of the Canton Legends, "Our goal is to help the Canton Legends establish themselves as the class organization in the AIFL. Our FM signal will allow the great football fans of northeast Ohio to listen to the fastest show on turf. It also adds to our continuing commitment of local sports coverage."
