WNBA's Can't Miss TV

The extended weekend of Thursday, July 8 through Sunday, July 11 is Can't Miss TV for WNBA fans. The weekend's lineup includes four nationally televised games featuring ten WNBA players who will represent their countries in Athens on ABC and ESPN2.

Russian National Team member Elena Baranova tips things off on Thursday, July 8 when her New York Liberty hosts the Washington Mystics and 2000 U.S. Olympian Chamique Holdsclaw.

The 2004 WNBA Champion Detroit Shock's Swin Cash (USA) welcomes members of two different national teams to The Palace at Auburn Hills on Saturday, July 10 when reigning league MVP Lauren Jackson (Australia) and two-time All-WNBA selection Sue Bird (USA) travel to Detroit. Storm Head Coach Anne Donovan is an assistant coach for the U.S.

Later that night, four United States National Team members will be in the arena when Houston's two-time Olympian Sheryl Swoopes and Tina Thompson host the Sparks' two-time Olympian Lisa Leslie and 2000 Olympian DeLisha Milton-Jones at the Toyota Center. Comets Head Coach Van Chancellor is also the head coach of the U.S. National Team.

Rounding out the weekend on Sunday, members of three different National Teams are pitted against one another when Baranova hosts the youngest member of the U.S. Team, Phoenix's Diana Taurasi, together with Australian National Team member Penny Taylor.

The action-packed weekend will serve as a preview of the much-anticipated "WNBA vs. USA Basketball: The Game at Radio City" on Thursday, August 5 to be televised live on ESPN at 7 p.m. ET
