Allison Feaster scored 15 points and Tammy Sutton-Brown added 14 points and six rebounds for the Sting. For the Mercury, Diana Taurasi recorded career-highs of 29 points, including 6-of-7 from three-point range, eight assists and seven rebounds.
Sat., July 3 at Houston W 62-55
Dawn Staley and Allison Feaster shared scoring honors as both recorded 16 points for the Sting. Staley also dished out eight assists for Charlotte. Kedra Holland-Corn led the Comets with 11 points.

Feaster on Fire
In the last six games, Allison Feaster is averaging 13.7 points per game for the Sting. She has scored in double figures in five of the last six games and has led the team in scoring four times over that six game span.
First Time Wins
This season the Sting have been victorious in two cities in which they have previously never before recorded wins. On Saturday, July 3 the Sting defeated the Comets in Houston for the first time in franchise history. It snapped a streak of six consecutive losses in Houston. The Sting also recorded a victory at the Mohegan Sun on June 18 as they defeated the Connecticut Sun 63-58 in overtime. The Sting had previously lost four consecutive games (including playoffs) at the Mohegan Sun.
It's a Dogfight
The battle for supremacy in the Eastern Conference continues to be tight as only two games separate first from last place. Charlotte (8-7; .533) currently sits in third place just a half game back of Indiana and Connecticut who are tied for first at 9-7 (.563). Detroit is in fourth, a game and a half out of first place at 7-8 (.467). New York (7-9; .438) and Washington (6-8; .429) are both just two games back of first place.
Playing Tough D
The Sting currently rank first in the league in fewest points allowed per game, holding their opponents to 60.8 points per game.
Faith and Family Night
The Charlotte Sting will host their Faith and Family Night on Saturday, July 10 as they take on the Washington Mystics at 6:00 p.m. â02 American Idol finalist R.J. Helton will perform. The first 2,500 fans will receive Sting Stacking Dolls courtesy of Head and Shoulders.

ON TV
Catch the Sting on WJZY-UPN 46 on July 18 at 4:00 p.m. as they travel to New York to face the Liberty and on July 31 at 10:00 p.m. as they play the Monarchs in Sacramento. The Sting will conclude their season on ESPN2 at 2:00 p.m. as they travel to Detroit on September 19.

The Storm currently sit atop the Western Conference with a 10-4 record...Storm Head Coach Anne Donovan spent two seasons as head coach of the Sting...She helped guide the Sting to an Eastern Conference Championship and appearance in the WNBA Finals in 2001... The Storm lead the league in points per game (73.6 ppg) and in field goal percentage (.441)...Lauren Jackson leads the Storm in scoring (19.6 ppg) and rebounding (7.1 rpg)...Betty Lennox (13.5 ppg), Sue Bird (11.6 ppg) and Sheri Sam (10.4 ppg) also average double figures for Seattle.
Washington Mystics

Notes: This is second of four match-ups between the two clubs...In the first match-up of the season, Sting guard Tynesha Lewis recorded a career-high 16 points while Allison Feaster added 15 including a three-point jumper with 1:08 left in the game to give the Sting the lead and their first win of the 2004 season...The Sting outrebounded the Mystics 33-24 in the first meeting...The Mystics have three players on their roster who played their college ball in North Carolina (Kaayla Chones, North Carolina State; Chasity Melvin, North Carolina State; Alana Beard, Duke)...The Mystics give up the most points in the WNBA, allowing their opponents on average 71.1 points per game...Chamique Holdsclaw is the only Mystics player averaging in double figures at 21.4 ppg.
