WMRD Has Got The Spirit

West Springfield, January 20, 2004 – Springfield Spirit President and Owner Stephen Fox is pleased to announce that the remainder of the games played at Central Connecticut State University will be broadcasted WMRD radio out of Middletown, CT. The broadcasts can be heard on WMRD at 1150AM on your dial.

Stephen Fox stated, “We are really looking forward to this partnership with WMRD as we feel it will be the beginning of a great relationship. We are always looking for ways to provide alternative options to our fans and now that WMRD is on board we feel that we have one.”

Don DeCesare, owner of WMRD stated, “We at WMRD are very excited to be working with the Spirit this year. And carrying the broadcasts of the Spirit home games in Connecticut is just the beginning as far as we are concerned.” DeCesare also enthusiastically stated, “We've got The Spirit!”

The next game that will be available on WMRD radio will be on Saturday, January 31st, as the Springfield Spirit will be taking on the 2-time NWBL Pro Cup Champions Houston Stealth. The next Spirit game will be held on this coming Sunday when the Spirit takes on visiting Birmingham at Cathedral High School in Springfield, MA.

Individual game tickets are on sale on at the Springfield Civic Center Box and Central Connecticut State University box offices. Tickets may also be charged over the phone at 413-787-6600, 800-639-8602 (SCC) and at 860-832-1989 (CCSU). Tickets for the 2004 season may also be purchased on line at www.ticketmaster.com tickets costs at CCSU are $20, $15, and $10 for adults and $12 and $10 for juniors under 18. At Cathedral H/S the tickets are $15 and $12 for adults and $10 for Junior under 18.
