Wisconsin Timber Rattlers News Release
The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers are in need of caring families, couples, or individuals in the Fox Cities to join their Host Family Program for the upcoming 2010 season. The goal of the program is to provide players - who range in age from to 18- to 23-years old - with pleasant and affordable housing during their stay in Appleton.
Participants in the program receive tickets to all Rattlers home games and are modestly compensated by the player staying with them. Those who have participated in the past have found the opportunity to experience the daily events that make up the life of a minor league baseball player rewarding. There is no charge to a host family involved in the program.
Ideal housing candidates must provide the player his own bedroom. Players are responsible to provide their own food and transportation.
If you and your family have an interest in this program, the Rattlers would like to hear from you. Please send a letter to let us know about your family and why you would like to take part in the Host Family Program. Letters should be sent to Bob Estes at pops@timberrattlers.com no later than Friday, February 5th. Qualifying families will be contacted to arrange an in-home visit to further discuss the guidelines of the program.
Wisconsin's 2010 season opens on Thursday, April 8 when the Timber Rattlers host the Kane County Cougars at 6:35pm. Fans may purchase season and holiday ticket packages for 2010 in one of the following ways: Over the phone at (920) 733-4152, through the internet at www.timberrattlers.com, and in person at the Time Warner Cable Field box office.
