Wings sign Seprum and Anderson
July 19, 2002 - Southeastern League (SEL) - Montgomery Wings News Release
The Montgomery Wings announced on Friday morning that they signed Southeastern League All-Stars and free agents RHP Chris Seprum and INF Melvin Anderson to contracts for the remainder of the season.
Both players became free agents when the Americus Arrows of the Southeastern League folded earlier in the week.
Seprum will fill a hole in the bullpen left by the departures of Jack Blanchard and William Hendershot. Anderson will fill in on the infield where the Wings have been hit by injuries at second base and will also give shortstop Gavin Jackson and third baseman Eunique Johnson a break which they have not had since spring training.
