Philadelphia Wings News Release

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Wings (1-1) got their first victory of the 2010 season and first ever over the Boston Blazers franchise. The 12-8 win was a complete team effort on both sides of the ball which included holding 2009 NLL MVP Dan Dawson to only two points (2A).

Brandon Miller was the star of the first quarter, stopping 14 of 15 shots. The Wings were unable to counter, however, only scoring one goal of their own which came off the stick of Kyle Wailes (2G, 1A). The second quarter saw a total of 13 goals from both teams including seven Philadelphia goals from seven different players. The Wings took an 8-7 lead into the half which they would not relinquish.

After the fireworks of the second quarter, it was defense and goaltending which highlighted the second half. Although, Philadelphia only managed four goals of their own, they completely stymied the Boston offense by allowing just one goal. Miller stopped an amazing 27 of 28 shots in the second half.
