Wings face Knighthawks this Saturday

The Philadelphia Wings (5-5) face the Rochester Knighthawks (5-4) this Saturday, March 12 at the Wachovia Center at 8 p.m. This Saturday's game will be broadcast live on Comcast SportsNet and will be available on Video On Demand for Comcast Cable subscribers following the game.

The Wings are one game behind the third place Knighthawks in the East Division and one and half games behind the division-leading Buffalo Bandits. The Wings got back in the playoff hunt with a 15-8 win over the Minnesota Swarm on Saturday, March 5 at Wachovia Center.

SCOUTING THE KNIGHTHAWKS
The Knighthawks's John Grant leads his team and the National Lacrosse League in scoring with 66 points (32G, 34A) followed by Shawn Williams with 52 points (19G, 33A), Mike Accursi with 41 points (15G, 26A), and Scott Evans with 24 points (14G, 10A) .

Goaltender Pat O'Toole has the NLL's third best goals against average (11.11) and a 79.1% save percentage.


MARINES BRACELET GIVEAWAY
The Philadelphia Wings will distribute Wings bracelets courtesy of the U.S. Marines to the first 5,000 fans this Saturday when they face the Rochester Knighthawks. The red silicone bracelets have the word "Wings" imprinted on one side with "Marines" printed on the other.

WINGS ON THREE-GAME WINNING STREAK
After starting the season at 1-3, the Wings have gotten back in the playoff race, securing their third straight win with their defeat of the Minnesota Swarm on Saturday. The Wings previously defeated the Buffalo Bandits on Friday, February 25 by a score of 14-8 and the Swarm on Sunday, February 20 by a score of 18-17.

Leading the Wings in scoring in Saturday's win over the Swarm were Tom Marechek with seven points (3G, 4A), Dan Finck and Dan Marohl with five points (3G, 2A), Keith Cromwell with four points (3G, 1A), Marc Morley with four points (1G, 3A), and Jake Bergey and Jeff Spano with two points (1G, 1A).

THE LEADER BOARD
Fifth-year forward Dan Marohl is the Wings' leading point scorer with 50 points (15G, 35A), followed by Tom Marechek with 45 points (22G, 23A), Keith Cromwell with 44 points (17G, 27A), Jeff Ratcliffe with 34 points (20G, 14A), and Marc Morley with 30 points (15G, 16A).

Goaltender Dallas Eliuk has a 12.26 goals against average and a 78.4% save percentage in eight games played. Nick Schroeder holds a 15.12 GAA and has a 66.7% save percentage in four games played.

WINGS SWEEP NLL WEEKLY HONORS
The Philadelphia Wings swept the National Lacrosse League's awards in week nine of regular season action. Fourth-year forward Keith Cromwell secured Player of the Week and Offensive Player of the Week honors for his nine-point performance in the Wings' 14-8 win over the Buffalo Bandits on Friday, February 25. Rookie Andrew Burkholder captured Rookie of the Week honors while veteran goaltender Dallas Eliuk secured Defensive Player of the Week honors for his 50 saves made against the Bandits.
