
Wings face Buffalo in home opener this Friday

The Philadelphia Wings (1-1) face the Buffalo Bandits (1-2) in their 2005 home opener on Friday, January 28 at the Wachovia Center at 7:30 p.m. The Colorado Mammoth in their last game action on Saturday, January 22, defeated the Bandits by a score of 11-8.
The home opener will mark the beginning of the 19th season for the Philadelphia Wings franchise.
SNOW STORM POSTPONES WINGS HOME OPENER
The Wings original January 22 home opener against the Toronto Rock was postponed due to a snow emergency in the City of Philadelphia. The January 22nd game has yet to be rescheduled.
LATE ARRIVAL
This Friday's home opener will be the second latest home start for the Philadelphia Wings. The latest date that the Wings have started their home season was in their inaugural season on January 31, 1987.
WINTER BREAK
This Friday will be the first time the Wings have seen game action since Saturday, January 8 when they were defeated by the Anaheim Storm 13-10.

THE LEADER BOARD
First-year forward Bryan Bendig is the Wings' leading point scorer with eight (4G, 4A), followed by Dan Marohl with eight (1G, 7A), and Tom Marechek with six (3G, 3A).
Goaltender Dallas Eliuk has 55 saves and has the league's best save percentage ( 85.9%) in one game played, while Nick Schroeder has 31 saves and a 70.5% save percentage in his only game.
The Wings lead the NLL is penalty killing (85.71%).
SCOUTING THE BANDITS
The Bandits' John Tavares is tied for fifth in the NLL and leads his team in scoring with 18 points (9G, 9A). Dan Teat is second on the team in scoring with 14 points (4G, 10A).
Goaltender Steve Dietrich has 121 saves in three games played and has a 77.1% save percentage.
