Wings' Christmas Named NLL Transition Player Of The Week

The Philadelphia Wings' John Christmas was named the NLL's Transition Player of the Week for his performance in his team's 19-11 win over the Chicago Shamrox in their home opener last Saturday at the Wachovia Center. Christmas recorded five assists and scooped nine loose balls during the contest.

"We're very pleased that John's contributions were recognized," said Wings' Head Coach Dave Huntley. "We look for him to build on that in the coming week and have a great game against Rochester this Friday."

The Ardmore, PA native is entering his third season with the Wings and has eight career points (5G, 3A). The 5'10", 180-pound University of Virginia graduate was drafted by the Wings in the fifth round (49th overall) in the 2005 NLL Entry Draft.

The Wings face the Rochester Knighthawks in their next home game this Friday, January 18 vs. at Wachovia Center at 8 p.m. Great seats are still available and can be purchased by visiting www.wingslax.com or at the Wachovia Complex Box Office.
