Philadelphia Wings News Release
Wings captain Thomas Hajek will join the Philadelphia Flyers Alumni for a charity hockey game benefiting the Robert Gagliardi Children's Fund this Thursday, December 1 at 7 p.m. at Sovereign Bank Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ. The 5'10" defenseman played hockey in addition to lacrosse at the University of Vermont where he was a teammate of current Flyer Patrick Sharpe.
"This is a great opportunity for me to get back out on the ice while helping out a worthy cause at the same time," said Hajek. "It's an honor to get to play with Flyers greats such as Joe Watson and Bob Kelly."
Robert Gagliardi's brothers set up the Gagliardi Children's Fund after his sudden and unexpected passing this past spring during his participation in an ice hockey game. The purpose of the fund is to help support Robert's three surviving children, Bobby Jr., Frankie, and Celia. Robert was affiliated with the Flyers Youth Organization for several years, both as a parent and a coach.
Tickets to the benefit game are $10 each and can be purchased at the Sovereign Bank Flyers Skate Zone.
