
Wings Announce Final Roster For 2010 Season

The Philadelphia Wings 23-man roster for the 2010 season is set according to team General Manager David Huntley. The Wings will return 14 players from the 2009 squad. The team plays its home opener Saturday, January 16 at the Wachovia Center with lower level seats starting at only $18.
Key players returning for 2010 include former All-Stars Geoff Snider (Assistant Captain), Kyle Sweeney (Springfield, PA), Taylor Wray, and Drew Westervelt along with the goaltending duo of Rob Blasdell and Brandon Miller. Team leading goal scorer Merrick Thomson will also be back for his third season with Philadelphia. Captain Thomas Hajek will enter his seventh season with the team and will be joined by fellow defender and Assistant Captain Shawn Nadelen. Mat Giles, the Wings top overall scorer in 2009, will also be back to compete in his twelfth NLL season.
New faces for 2010 include the Wings top draft pick Bob Snider and former 2008 top five overall draft choice Kevin Huntley, who did not play in 2009. They will be joined by two former players; John Christmas (Lower Merion, PA), who took last season off to start his urban youth lacrosse organization LEAPS and by Jason Crosbie who played for the Toronto Rock in 2009. Ridley, PA native Bill McGlone and Edmonton Rush 2009 top point getter, Dan Teat, are also key additions for 2010.
The Wings open their 2010 home season on Saturday, January 16 vs. the Boston Blazers at the Wachovia Center.
