Williams Third in MSL Points Race

(Rochester, July 7)... Rochester Knighthawks forward Shawn Williams is third in the latest race for the Major Series points race, trailing Cody Jamieson and Josh Sanderson. Williams has 62 points (21+41) in 13 games. He sits just two points behind Brampton Excelsiors teammate Josh Sanderson and Six Nations' Cody Jamieson.
This past season in Rochester, Williams led the Knighthawks with 93 points and set a team record with 67 assists. The Knighthawks team captain is second in team history with 655 points, 263 goals and 392 assists. The 2010 season will be his 13th in the NLL and ninth with the Knighthawks.
Fellow Rochester forward Shawn Evans remains fifth with 54 points (21+33) in 12 games for the Peterborough Lakers. Meanwhile, Jamie Rooney (Kitchener-Waterloo Kodiaks) is 11th with 33 points (18+24) in 14 games and Craig Point is 20th with 35 points (14+21) in 10 games for Six Nations. Further, goalie Pat O'Toole is fifth in the Major Series with an 8.22 goals-against average for Peterborough.
Mac Allen (Peterborough), Sandy Chapman (Brampton), Kyle Laverty (Peterborough), Bobby McBride (Brooklin) and Steve Toll (St. Regis) are also in the Major Series. Additionally, Dean Hill is playing out west for the Victoria Shamrocks of the Western Lacrosse Association Major Series. Hill has 17 goals and 18 assists in 11 games for the top team in the west (11-1).
