Wildfong Named CHL Player of the Week

BOSSIER CITY, LA â The Central Hockey League has announced that Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs forward Dan Wildfong has been named Player of the Week for his performance in three games over the past weekend.
Wildfong recorded one goal and six assists in the three games this weekend that saw the Mudbugs win twice and take five out of a possible six points in the Central Hockey League standings.
He began his impressive performance on Friday night in Indianapolis with assists on all three Mudbug goals, including the overtime game-winner from Forbes MacPherson for a 3-2 win. The following night, Wildfong assisted on Jason Campbell's power play goal for his team-high ninth assist. On Sunday, he finished his weekend by scoring a goal and adding two more assists in a 6-0 win over the Fort Worth Brahmas.
The Clinton, Ontario native now leads the Mudbugs with 15 points, 73 penalty minutes, and a plus-6 rating. He is the first Mudbug to win a weekly CHL award this season.
"Danny led the way for us this weekend and he's off to a great start this season," said Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Scott Muscutt. "It's great to see him being recognized by the league for his hard work and for putting up some outstanding numbers this weekend."
Dan Wildfong will be a guest on "Power Play with Scott Muscutt" live from Boomtown Casino tonight at 6:00 p.m. Steve Mears and Scott Tarkowski host the weekly coaches radio show every Tuesday night on Sports Radio AM 1130 The Fan.
