
Wildfire to Hold Tryout Camp Saturday, March 29

White Plains, NY, March 6, 2003 . . . The Westchester Wildfire of the United States Basketball League (USBL) will hold its first free agent player tryouts in the Physical Education Building on the campus of SUNY Purchase College in Westchester County on Saturday, March 29, and Sunday, March 30, 2003. Players will vie for roster positions for the Wildfire's first season, which begins April 19 and runs through June 21, 2003.
"We're interested in evaluating any eligible player who is team oriented and can demonstrate strong, well-rounded basketball skills," said Wildfire team owner and president Gary Lieberman. "We're a new team, so right now all of our roster spots are open."
Eligibility
Tryouts are open to any amateur or professional player 18 years of age or older. Each player must sign a waiver of liability prior to participation in the camp.
Tryout Schedule
Saturday, March 29, from 10AM to 12 Noon; and 2PM to 4PM
Sunday, March 30, from 10AM to 1PM
Doors will open at 9AM on each day so players can get ready in the locker room and be on the courts by 10AM. Each player will receive a reversible jersey for tryouts and must supply all other wearable equipment and clothing.
Players must be registered by and attend tryouts on Saturday to participate in the camp. The Sunday session is only for those players who are invited back after playing in the Saturday session.
Registration
Each player who registers in advance for tryouts by 12 Noon, Wednesday, March 26, will pay $125.00. The fee for walk-up registration is $150.00 per player, and will only be accepted if space is available. Location, Accommodations
The March 29-30 tryouts for the Westchester Wildfire will be held in the Physical Education Building at the State University of New York at Purchase, located at 735 Anderson Hill Road in Purchase, New York.

Wildfire Ticket Information
The Westchester Wildfire will play a 30-game schedule in 2003. The team will play its 15 home games at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY, beginning Saturday, April 19, at 7:00 PM against the Pennsylvania ValleyDawgs, coached by NBA legend Darryl Dawkins.

The United States Basketball League, now in its 18th season, is headquartered in Milford, CT.
