Minnesota Wilderness News Release

MN Wilderness 4 @ Coulee Region 0 - Goaltender Luke Kania made a season-high 43 saves for his 3rd shutout of the season as the Wilderness blanked the Chill in Coulee Region on Thursday night, 4-0.

It didn't take the Wilderness long to take the lead as an odd-man rush led to a nice backhanded goal from Kyle Patava with assists to Jack Forbort and Jack Kelly. Towards the end of the period, the lead increased to 2-0 as a nice pass from behind the net from Koby Bender found the stick of Aaron Miller in front, who then slipped a backhanded shot past Chill goalie Hunter Vorva for a 2-0 lead. Alex Trapp picked up the other assist.

In the 2nd period, the Wilderness lead increased to 3-0 as Ryan Bloom scored his first of two goals on the night as he crashed hard to the net and drove home a rebound chance after a shot from Patava. Trapp picked up his second assist of the night on the goal.

In the 3rd period, the Wilderness added their fourth and final goal as Bloom netted his second of night as he drove to the net and got a nice pass from Bender to send a shot over the shoulder of Vorva on a one-timer for the 4-0 lead on the power play. Alex Toscano picked up the second assist on the goal.

Vorva took the loss making 30 saves. Both Bender and Trapp ended up with two assists on the night for the Wilderness, who improved to 4-0 against the Chill this season.
