Wild Re-Sign Two and Add Former North Carolina Lineman

The Wichita Wild offensive line got a huge upgrade with the signing of former University of North Carolina star Charlston Gray. The Wild have also re-signed linemen Jeremy Javers and Matt Williams. This will be Gray's second season of professional football.

Gray?s first professional football experience came in 2007 when he was a member of the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football league. Gray saw action in five games for the Argos.

Gray finished his playing career at North Carolina in 2006. Gray started all 12 games during the 2006 campaign allowing just five sacks in over 800 plays. Gray and the Tar Heels fell to Boston College in the Continental Tire Bowl after going 6-5 in the regular season. In 2005, Gray started all 11 games at left guard and was named to the All-ACC Team. Gray allowed three sacks on 769 plays during the season.

As a Freshman in 2004, Gray saw over 500 plays of action and only allowed one sack. He was named to The Sporting News All-Freshman First Team. Rivals.com also recognized the Fort Worth, TX native in their post-season All-Freshman Team.

Javers returns to the Wild for his fourth season of professional football. In 2008, Javers saw action at both offensive and defensive line. He recorded eight tackles on the defensive side of the ball for the Wild. Javers was named an NAIA All-American at Dakota State (SD) for his efforts during the 2000 season as a defensive lineman. He was also named to the Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) First Team following the 2000 campaign. In 2001, Javers was again named to the All-DAC team.

Williams is playing in his seventh season of professional football. All of them have been played in Wichita. Williams recorded 18 tackles for the Wild in 2008. The Langston University (OK) athlete was named to the All-Central States Football League Team in both 2000 and 2001.
