Wichita Wild News Release

Wichita, KS - The Wichita Wild Professional Indoor Football team has reached a deal with Coach Morris Lolar extending his contract for the 2013 season. John Blazek the General Manager for the Wichita Wild was pleased with Lolar's leadership abilities on and off the field. "Morris' toughness, discipline, and recruiting abilities make him a great asset as we continue to build the Wild organization into a premier indoor football team."

Coach Lolar is focused on continuing the success of the Wild in the future. "It is a privilege and an honor to have the opportunity to lead this team for another season. I feel with the current talent we have both on the field and in the organization we can continue to be a successful organization. Although we did not reach our ultimate goal of winning an IFL Championship, I am very proud of these players and coaches. I look forward to continuing what we are building." During the 2011 season, Coach Lolar was designated the Interim Coach for the last nine games of the season where he inherited a 0-5 team leading them to a 6-3 finish. With such an impressive finish to the season, the Wild removed the Interim title for the 2012 season.

This past season Lolar developed a young and inexperienced team into an Indoor Football League playoff contender winning eight games in a nine week stretch. Under the leadership of Lolar, the Wild returned to the playoffs after a one year absence to face the Allen Wranglers in Texas for a Monday night game. The hard fought game came down to the last seconds with the Wild coming out on top by a field goal 43-40. Only 4 days later the Wild were back on the field two time zones and 1,623 miles away in Kennewick, Washington taking on the Tri-Cities Fever. Despite the extensive travel challenges faced by the Wild, Lolar's team put up a resilient fight only to come up short 51-30 to end their season.

Lolar and his staff contributed to several individual success stories this season as Jason Enos (OL) and Matt Moss (DE) were First Team All IFL selections with Moss winning the IFL Co-Defensive Player of the Year award. The Wild Organization celebrated its Fifth Year anniversary, making the playoffs three out of five seasons making it one of the most successful indoor football organizations in the Midwest.
