The coaching staff of the Wichita Wild worked out 51 players on Sunday at Hartman Arena at the team's first open tryout of the offseason. Players were evaluated on 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle, vertical jump, agility, and various position specific drills.

Players traveled from all over the country to participate including 18 former NCAA Division I and II players.

Head Coach Ken Matous was impressed with the talent of all that participated. "We are definitely a better team today then we were before the tryout." said Matous. "On Sunday we found some guys that will make our final roster and I am excited to bring them back and see them work out again."

Also at the open tryout, Ashley Anderson and Traci Nigg kicked field goals as part of the Kicks for a Cure fundraiser. Anderson and Nigg made 16 field goals resulting in a $1,600 donation from Wild owner Wink Hartman to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
