The Wichita Wild return to Hartman Arena on Saturday for their first home game since April 17. Wichita went 2-1 during their longest road stretch of the season. The Wild will be welcomed home by the San Angelo Stampede Express. Both teams come into the game with matching 7-3 records. San Angelo and Wichita will both use this game as a measuring stick to see where the two teams stand heading into the final weeks of the regular season. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
The Wild is 3-0 all-time vs. teams from the state of Texas including a 48-35 victory over San Angelo last season. The game will be a test for the Wild's #1 ranked rushing defense. Wichita allows an average of 33.3 rushing yards per game. San Angelo ranks 6th in rushing yards per game with an average of 75.4 per game and Stampede Express running back Derek Ross leads the IFL in rushing yards with 551 yards on the season.
The San Angelo run defense should get a workout from Wild running back Darius Fudge. San Angelo ranks 18th in the IFL in rush defense allowing 65.4 yards per game. Fudge is second in the league in rushing with 513 yards. Fudge and Ross are tied for the league lead in rushing touchdowns with 19.
The San Angelo quarterback is Dustin Almond who is 39-of-86 passing for 403 yards and seven touchdowns.
