Wild Assistant Morris Lolar Elected To Wichita Sports Hall Of Fame

This morning the Wichita Sports Hall of Fame announced their Class of 2010. Among the 11 individual inductees is Wild Assistant Coach Morris Lolar. Lolar has been on the Wild staff for the last two seasons.

Lolar was a two-time first team All-American for Friends University and All-City player at South H.S. as well as going on to play five years in the Canadian Football League. His first four years (1994-97) in Canada he played for the Edmonton Eskimos, who captured the Grey Cup in 1993 and were runners-up in 1996. Lolar is the only native Wichitan to be a part of a Grey Cup Championship team. Lolar finished his playing career with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 1998.

After his playing career, Lolar coached at Wichita East, Wichita North and Wichita Northwest High Schools. He also served as defensive backs coach at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Currently Lolar is on the coaching staff at Friends University.

The public elected seven of the 2010 inductees through online balloting and the advisory committee elected four of the 2010 class plus a team. This is the seventh class of inductees to the Wichita Sports Hall of Fame. For more information visit www.wichitahof.com or visit the Hall of Fame at 4700 E Central.
