Wild Add Former KU Receiver

The Wichita Wild of the Indoor Football League (IFL) has signed former University of Kansas and Butler Community College standout receiver Brian Murph. Murph joined the team last week as the Wild prepares for the home opener on Saturday vs. Sioux Falls.

In 2008 Murph was a member of the Amarillo Dusters of Arena Football2 (AF2). Murph saw action in three games at wide receiver and accumulated 17 receptions for 188 yards and three touchdowns. Murph played defense for the Dusters in five games and compiled seven tackles and a sack.

Murph played two seasons at Kansas before playing professionally. As a Senior in 2006, Murph had 43 receptions for 467 yards and 3 touchdowns for the Jayhawks. Murph made seven starts for the Jayhawks as a Junior and ranked third on the team with 33 receptions for 368 yards with touchdown receptions against Louisiana Tech and against Houston in the Ft. Worth Bowl. Murph also returned a punt 85 yards for a TD in the bowl game victory.

Previously, the New Madrid, MO native played two seasons for coach Troy Morrell at Butler County Community College in El Dorado, KS. Murph was ranked among the top junior college players in the nation by SuperPrep Magazine and led the Grizzlies to the National Championship game in each of his two seasons. As a Sophomore, Murph finished first on the team with 45 receptions for 896 yards while averaging 11.9 yards per punt return.
