Wide Receiver Travis LaTendresse Back In Rush Blue

Chicago Rush News Release

With two of its starting wide receivers placed on injured reserve and out for at least four weeks, the Chicago Rush is in need of some healthy wide receivers to help the offense. The Rush found one available player in former Rush wide receiver Travis LaTendresse, who signed with the team Thursday, the team announced.

LaTendresse (6-2, 215, Utah) who played for the Rush in 2008, lives in Utah and will meet the team in Salt Lake City for its game against the Utah Blaze Saturday night.

"We are faced with interesting circumstances in that we need to find some healthy bodies who can play wide receiver for us," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "While we wouldn't normally sign someone without having worked them out in person, we know that Travis has been keeping himself in great shape, and he certainly knows our offense. He also has a great familiarity with our QB Russ Michna. We sent him a copy of the game plan and told him to learn it quickly.

LaTendresse caught 91 passes for 1,105 yards and 20 touchdowns in his first season with the Rush. Prior to coming to Chicago, LaTendresse played one season (2007) for the Las Vegas Gladiators. Before that he was a four-year letterwinner (2002-2005), at the University of Utah, catching 135 passes for 1,782 yards and 12 touchdowns in 43 career games. He finished his college career ranked sixth in Utah history in receptions and ninth in receiving yards.

After this week's game in Utah, the Rush returns home to host the Milwaukee Iron and Orlando Predators on June 19 and 26, respectively. With the Rush and Iron currently tied atop the Midwest Division, the June 19 game against Milwaukee could end up being the determining factor in the division race - setting up home field advantage in the playoffs.

Chicago's following game against Orlando will bring former Rush star wide receiver Bobby Sippio back to Allstate Arena. Sippio played for the Rush from 2006-2007 before signing with the Kansas City Chiefs. The game will mark Sippio's first trip back to Allstate Arena since the end of the 2007 season.

Kickoff for both games at Allstate Arena is set for 7 p.m. and good seats for each game remain available. Fans wishing to purchase tickets should call Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000 or visit the Ticketmaster Web site at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets - which range in price from $10 to $60 - also may be purchased in person at any Ticketmaster outlet or the Allstate Arena box office.
