Portland Thunder News Release

Portland, Ore. - The Portland Thunder, already deep at wide receiver, got more talented late Monday, as they were assigned former Northern Illinois University standout Martel Moore.

"Martel is an outstanding young receiver," said Thunder Head Coach Mike Hohensee. "He had a great career at NIU - he's a kid who will run right by you, jump over you, and make you miss. He's a tremendous athlete and we're looking forward to seeing how his talents translate into Arena Football."

Moore (6-1, 190) finished his career at Northern Illinois second all-time in receiving yards (2,544) and touchdown receptions (24) and fourth in receptions (178). He tallied nine career 100-yard games and was a first-team All Mid-American Conference selection at wide receiver his senior year with 1,083 yards and 13 touchdowns. After college, he was in mini-camps with the Atlanta Falcons and comes to the Thunder by way of the Canadian Football League's Saskatchewan Roughriders.
