Laredo Lemurs News Release
Wichita, KS - Behind the white hot bat of 2B Jake Kahaulelio, the Wichita Wingnuts held off the Laredo Lemurs to win 5-3 Monday night in Kansas. Kahaulelio was 3-for-3 on the night with four RBI and a run scored.
Kahaulelio made an impact starting with his first at bat as he pushed SS Ryan Koury across with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first inning. Kahaulelio blasted a two-run homerun in the fourth and doubled home Koury in the fifth inning to move the Wingnuts out in front 5-1.
The Lemurs cut into the lead in the eighth inning as SS Devin Goodwin, who was 2-for-4 with three RBI in the game, hit a two-run homerun but the Lemurs wouldn't get any closer. Starting pitcher Anthony Capra was tabbed as the winner as he went seven innings allowing one earned run on four hits while striking out seven batters.
