Calgary, AB - Matt MacKenzie and the Calgary Hitmen take on Johnny Lazo and the Tri-City Americans for Game 2 of the 2010 WHL Championship on Saturday night.
Saturday's Husky WHL Eastern Conference Championship series battle between the Hitmen and Wheat Kings can be seen LIVE throughout western Canada on SHAW, SHAW HD channel 311 and SHAW Direct channel 299 (8:00pm MT), and tape delayed on FSN Northwest (12:30am PST).
The Hitmen claimed a 7-0 shutout win in Game 1 of the series on Friday night in Calgary for their fifth straight post-season win, dating back to Game 2 of the Husky WHL Eastern Conference Championship series. The Hitmen have shut out the Ams both times they have played them this season, also blanking the Ams 3-0 in their lone regular-season meeting in January. MacKenzie scored twice in Friday's series-opening win, and now has four goals over his last four games.
The Americans find themselves down 0-1 in the best-of-seven series after Friday's Game 1 loss in Calgary. The Americans outshot the Hitmen 26-23 in Friday's contest. The Ams have not lost back-to-back games in the 2010 WHL playoffs.
The Americans will host Games 3 and 4 of the best-of-seven series on Tuesday and Wednesday in Kennewick, WA.
The winner of the 2010 WHL Championship series will hoist the Ed Chynoweth Cup and join the Brandon Wheat Kings as well as the OHL and QMJHL Champions in the 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup tournament later in May.
