
Whitecaps FC to Host First Ever Alumni Match Versus WFC2

VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced today that they will host the first ever alumni match versus Whitecaps FC 2 at BC Place on Saturday, May 9 from 1:45 to 2:45 pm PT. The match will feature two 30 minutes halves and will take place prior to the MLS match against Philadelphia Union which is set to kick-off at 4 pm PT that same afternoon.
Only 1,000 tickets are available for this inaugural match. Season Tickets Members and those who have already purchased a ticket for the May 9 match will receive an email with instructions on how to purchase their tickets for the alumni match. All others who are interested in attending the alumni match can purchase by calling the 'Caps office at 604.669.9283 ext. 2. Tickets for the alumni match are $5 with all proceeds being donated to the 'Caps community partner, BC Children's Hospital Foundation. In order to purchase a ticket for the alumni match, fans must have or purchase a ticket for the evening's MLS match.
Whitecaps FC are pleased to welcome back alumni from all eras of the club's 41 year history. The alumni match will be captained by Jay DeMerit, the club's first-ever MLS signing and captain. He will be joined by Korean legend, Young-Pyo Lee, who will return to the pitch for the first time since retiring in 2013. The following alumni will be present for the match on May 9. Please note this list is subject to change.

Tickets for this inaugural charity match are on sale now. Fans are encouraged to act quickly to avoid disappointment. Tickets for the match are general admission in sections 212 to 216. BC Place gate A will open at 1:30 pm with the match commencing at 1:45 pm PT. Tickets must be purchased in advance and will not be available at the door.
