
Whitecaps captain suspended for one game

Vancouver Whitecaps team captain, Jeff Clarke, will miss Sunday's match versus the Richmond Kickers as a result of receiving his fifth yellow card of the season.
Last Saturday, August 6, in the Whitecaps 2-0 loss to the Virginia Beach Mariners Clarke received his fifth yellow card. Clarke has played in all but one game this year and is second only to Steve Klein in minutes played with 1,761.
The Whitecaps are currently tied with the Richmond Kickers and Seattle Sounders for third overall with 35 points. However, the Caps and Sounders have one game in hand
