May 2, 2008 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Shreveport-Bossier Stallions News Release
Shreveport, LA. The ABA Shreveport Bossier Stallions will begin its inaugural season in November. The location for team games is inconfirmed, but fan polls point to SUSLA (Southern University at Shreveport Louisiana) as the leading candidate for the host site so far. Negotiations with SUSLA and other venues are currently underway with an announcement expected in early May.
Stallions' President and General Manager, R.E. Evans, embraces a strong "community participation" philosophy and seeks to position the Stallions as a stimulus for the growth of positive community and corporate partnerships. Plans are already on the drawing board to develop ties with large community organizations, such as United Way; leading private sector corporations and Shreveport's vibrant cultural and media sectors. With basketball at its core, the Stallions hope to define the new millennium model for sports entertainment with high impact and value, not just on the court, but with the Shreveport-Bossier community and its constituents for years to come.
