Danbury Whalers News Release
The Danbury Whalers are home for a three game weekend series of games for the New Year. The Danbury Whalers are home on Friday, January 2nd against the Berkshire Battalion, Saturday, January 3rd against the Danville Dashers, and Sunday, January 4th also against the Dashers. Gametimes on Friday & Saturday are 7:35 pm, Sunday is 5 pm.
The Danbury Whalers have been on a roll this season and are currently in 1st place. The Whalers have been to the Championship series the last three seasons and the Green Machine and can't be stopped.
Berkshire has been a tough opponent for Danbury this season already winning twice in the DIA. Danville is always gritty and physical. It's hockey it's the weekend - do it - treat yourself right for the start of the calendar.
On Sunday it's a Kids Club Game, members of the Kids Club receive a complimentary ticket. To sign up for the Kids Club, click this link.
Sunday is also a Skate with the Whalers. After the game, join the Whalers players on the ice and skate with the team. Always a fun event.

The Cookhouse Rib Eating Challenge Saturday, January 3rd
This Saturday, January 3rd, when the Danbury Whalers take on the Danville Dashers, it is the first installment of The Cookhouse Rib Eating Challenge.
Each month, fans who enter the contest will have a chance to compete against other fans. The winner of each month's event will then get to compete in The Cookhouse Rib Eating Challenge where the team of winning fans take on the Danbury Whalers team to see who can finish off more ribs.
We've already got three entrants - Joe "The Rib Eater" Trench, The Meatball Steve Sporbeck, and Buffalo Bruce Robideau.
To enter the contest send an email to hsorcher@thedanburywhalers.com. Submit your name, phone, and email contact. If you are selected to compete you will be notified.
If you don't get selected this month, you can enter for the next month's contest.

Skate with the Whalers Sunday, January 4th
This Sunday, January 4th, following the Whalers 5 PM game against the Danville Dashers, fans will be invited onto the ice to skate with the Whalers players.
Traditionally after every Whalers home game the players sign autographs for the fans in the lobby, but for this game fans will have a chance to put on their skates and hit the ice with the favorite men in green.
The players will be available for pictures during this event as well. So put on your skates, bring your camera and head down to the Danbury Ice Arena for what is sure to be a great event.
Fans looking to rent skates that day, can pick up a pair at the Danbury Ice Arena for $4 at the skate rental desk at the arena.
Kids Club Game Sunday, January 4th

On Sunday, January 4th, when the Whalers take on the Danville Dashers, the team is offering every Kids Club member a complimentary ticket to that day's game.
Following the game, all Kids Club members and their families are invited to skate with the Whalers after the game. It's always a fun time.

Danbury Whalers to Host Job Fair - January 22nd
The Danbury Whalers will be hosting an Inaugural Job Fair at Danbury Ice Arena. The first event will take place on Thursday, January 22, before and during the Whalers game that begins at 7:35 PM.
Job seekers bringing a resume on January 22 will be given a complimentary ticket to that night's 7:35 PM contest courtesy of Northwestern Mutual. The fair will commence at 11 am and when gates open to the general public at 6:35 PM.
A high turnout of companies from the greater Danbury/Fairfield County area will be in attendance at the job fair and participating in on-site interviews. Companies have job opportunities in a variety of fields, including medical, insurance, retail, sales, customer service, and many more.
