
Whalers Sign Former Danbury Trashers D-Man Ed Campbell

The Danbury Whalers have announced the signing of former Danbury Trashers Defenseman, Ed Campbell. A 13-year professional, Campbell was drafted in the 8th round of the 1993 draft by the New York Rangers.
Eddie has played over 460 games in the American Hockey League with the Binghamton Rangers, Hartford Wolfpack, Worcester IceCats, Grand Rapids Griffins, Providence Bruins, Hershey Bears, Milwaukee Admirals, Bridgeport Sound Tigers, and Cleveland Barons.
A native of Worcester, Massachusetts, Campbell played the 05-06 season with the Danbury Trashers. For the Trashers, Ed had 3 goals 16 assists, and 132 PIM's.
Campbell played collegiately at UMASS-Lowell in Hockey East.
Campbell is the 3rd Danbury Whalers players to have been drafted by an NHL team (Steve McClellan - Colorado and Eric Lind - Pittsburgh)
Asked about his return to Danbury, Campbell responded, "I love this city. I love the fans and can't wait to see them again. This is a great place to be - Section 102 is awesome. Looking forward to Saturday night."
Campbell has the rare distinction of playing for 4-professional teams in Connecticut. Hartford, Bridgeport, and Danbury twice.)
The Whalers will be home this Saturday at 7:35 PM, Sunday at 5:05 PM (Skate with the team after the game), and Monday at 5:05 PM (Free Student Tickets).
