
Whalers Move Up in Saturday's OHL Draft

PLYMOUTH - Not only are the Plymouth Whalers preparing for the Ontario Hockey League's 2007 Rogers Championship Series - starting tonight at 7:05 p.m. at the Compuware Sports Arena - they've also made a two deals to move up in Saturday's Ontario Hockey League Draft.
Whalers' President, General Manager and Head Coach Michael Vellucci announced a trade with Sault Ste. Marie today. Plymouth picked up of the 80th overall pick in Saturday's draft, along with Sault Ste. Marie's fifth round pick (93rd overall), in exchange for Erie's sixth round pick in Saturday's draft (101st overall) and Plymouth's third round selection in 2009.
The 80th selection is London's 4th round pick in Saturday's OHL Draft.
In a second deal with the Oshawa Generals, Plymouth acquired Oshawa's second round pick (30th overall) in Saturday's draft along with the Generals' 4th round pick (71st overall) in exchange for Plymouth's second and fourth round selections in 2009.
The Whalers' first round pick is 19th overall on Saturday.

Plymouth and Sudbury start the Rogers Ontario Hockey League Championship Series tonight. The schedule is as follows:
Game 1 - Fri., May 4 at Plymouth, 7:05.
Game 2 - Sun., May 6 at Plymouth, 3:00.
Game 3 - Tues., May 8 at Sudbury, 7:30.
Game 4 - Wed., May 9 at Sudbury, 7:30.
Game 5 - Fri., May 11 at Plymouth, 7:05.
Game 6 - Sun., May 13 at Sudbury, TBA.
Game 7 - Tues., May 15 at Plymouth, 7:05.
