This weekend it is 48 Hours of Danbury Whalers Hockey. T-shirts, a band, skating with the Whalers, and the Devils PA - Announcer, Kevin Clark. It's going to be good one. Buckle up.
Both games are against the 1000 Islands Privateers let's get the bounty.
The Danbury Whalers weekend starts off on Saturday, January 26th at 7:35 PM vs. Privateers. This will be the middle game of a 3-game weekend war with the first game in Watertown on Friday.
On Saturday, the Whalers will be wearing their special edition Black Jersey's with blue trim. The team will be auctioning off these jerseys and fans can take them home that night. This will be the only time this season the club wears this sweater.
The first 1,500 fans entering the arena on a Saturday will receive a complimentary t-shirt courtesy of People's Power - the ultimate power play. Check them out at www.peoplespower.com
As part of the night, People's Power CEO & Founder, Dave Pearsall will also be in net during an intermission promotion. Watch him try to stop 10 consecutive breakaways from Breanna Barksdale. If Breanna makes all 10 and then a bonus 11th shot she scores 5k from Peoples Power.
The Whalers are also proud to announce that New Jersey Devils PA announcer Kevin Clark will be on hand to call the game. Get ready for an NHL sound to the game, it's going to be rocking in the DIA.
Saturday's game features fundraisers for the King Street School and St. Gregory's the Great School, both in Danbury. Both groups will be selling Webster Whales, Chuck a Pucks, and 50/50 tickets to raise funds for their enrichment programs.
The Big Buddha will also be set up on the concourse level. The Big Buddha Cigar Lounge is a Newtown-based smoking lounge offering members and patrons access to a public smoking room with TVs, free Wi-Fi Internet access, comfortable seating, and a retail shop featuring goods such as cigars, pipes, accessories, tobacco and more.
