
WHA2 Mascots to Compete for the All-Star Title

CELEBRATION, Fla. â The World Hockey Association 2 (WHA2) today announced that all WHA2 Team Mascots will compete for the title of "All-Star Mascot" at the Inaugural WHA2 All-Star Game to be held at the brand-new Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena on January 27.
WHA2 Team Mascots will face each other for an intense game of broom ball during the first intermission of the All-Star Game. After the mascots showcase their talent, one lucky mascot will be named to the All-Star team as the All-Star Mascot.
Hammer (Alabama), Chomper (Jacksonville), CROSSCHECK (Macon), Riverside Ford "The Engineer" (Macon), Manny (Miami), Mandy (Miami), and Sealvester (Orlando) will all be on hand to compete for the honor.
"I'm going to make mincemeat out of the other mascots!" Host mascot Chomper said. "I know the arena and have home ice advantage."
The All-Star Game will pit the Jacksonville Barracudas against the League All-Stars on January 27 at 7:05pm at the state-of-the-art Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. Ticket packages are available through the Jacksonville Barracudas office at 904.367.1423.
The WHA2 has six member teams for the 2003 â 2004 season: the Alabama Slammers, Jacksonville Barracudas, Lakeland Loggerheads, Macon Trax, Miami Manatees, and Orlando Seals. Every game will be broadcast on www.irn.fm.
