Danbury, CT- March 20, 2013: The Danbury Westerners, the longest tenured team in the New England Collegiate Baseball League, are proud to announce the signing of Elon University's Ryan Kinsella and Franklin Pierce University's John Razzino.

Ryan Kinsella is a junior first baseman at Elon University. Ryan is off to a great start in the 2013 season, leading the team in both HRs (6) and RBIs (22), and batting a solid .308. During his sophomore season Ryan played in all 59 of Elon's games, compiled a 14-game hitting streak, drove in 54 runs (good for 4th in the conference), and was named to the All-SoCon second team. Hailing from Warren, NJ, Ryan is the son of William and VaLorie Kinsella and is majoring in finance.

John Razzino is in his first season as an outfielder at Franklin Pierce University after transferring from Community College of Rhode Island. John has yet to see action in the young 2013 season, but posted very impressive numbers last season for the Community College of Rhode Island. John batted an impressive .373, while scoring 29 runs last season. John also stole 23 bases in 25 attempts last season. John is from Cranston, RI and is the son of Lori Buchanan and John Razzino. He is majoring in criminal justice.

Paul Schaffer, Danbury Westerners President commented, " Ryan Kinsella is off to a terrific start this season, and the combination of his power and left-handed swing will be an asset to the Westerners this summer, especially at Rogers Park. John Razzino has demonstrated an innate ability to take the extra base when offered, and his speed will bode well for us."

In addition, the Danbury Westerners would like to congratulate 2013 signee Chris Murphy (Millersville) on his perfect game this past Friday, his second no-hitter of the season.

The Danbury Westerners also are continuing their summer camp program, where boys and girls can learn baseball skills from tomorrow's future MLB stars. Each camp runs Monday to Thursday from 9:00-3:00, with week 1 starting July 8, week two July 15 and week three July 22. All campers will receive an official camp t shirt, tickets to a Danbury Westerners game, and certificate while participating in "skills and drills" during the morning and games in the afternoon.
