Westerners Postponed Until Saturday
August 10, 2012 - New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL)
Danbury Westerners News Release
The Westerners have been on course to capture the NECBL Championship trophy for the first time in 2012.
They recently knocked-off the North Adams SteepleCats, then swept the Keene SwampBat to capture the Western Division. They are now two wins away from taking all the marbles (the Fay Vincent Trophy) as they host the Newport Gulls in the second game of the championship finals.
Unfortunately, they met major resistance in Newport last night from the Gull's premier pitcher but still have a chance to get back to their winning ways when the two teams meet in Danbury.
Come down to Rogers Park Saturday evening to honor our Western Division Playoff Champions in their last home game of the season, and enjoy all the excitement - 6:30pm first pitch - weather permitting.
