It's just seven days to Westerners opening day!!! The Westerners are preparing to kick-off another exciting season of NECBL championship baseball at Rogers Park and you can have a front row seat to see who will wow the major league scouts like Mike Hauschild did last summer.
Mike (Dayton University) was named the number one starter on day one for the Westerners in 2010 and continued in that role throughout the season earning a 6-2 record with a 1.24 ERA. Eventually, Mike was voted the NECBL West All Star starting pitcher and the NECBL Starter of the Year.
Who, in the new crop of Danbury Westerners, will rise to similar heights as Iron Mike in 2011 is anyone's guess. Come out and see the action.
The new Westerners take on the Mystic Schooners on Friday, June 10 and North Adams Steeplecats on June 11 at 6:30. Be on-hand to see the action and meet the players who hope to bring Danbury another crown.
