Westerners Offense Overpowers the Bay Sox

An offensive night in Danbury, CT between the New Bedford Bay Sox, and the Danbury Westerners. While the Westerners offensive over powered the Bay Sox at a score of 10-7.

The Westerners struck first after a 2-Run home run by Vinny Bailey (North Carolina Central U/Raleigh NC) making it a 2-0 game in the first inning.

The Bay Sox answered back in the top of the third inning when New Bedford's own Rafe Chaumette (Trinity U/Sugar Land, Texas) hit a 2-Run home run of his own to allow the Bay Sox the the game. New Bedford took a 4-2 lead in the same inning after Ryan Markey (St. Johns U/Royersford, Pennsylvania) singles scoring Zach Buck(College of Holy Cross/Ashburn, Virginia) and Sam Henrie(Southern New Hampshire U, Middleboro, MA).

After back and forth scoring from both ball clubs, Vinny Bailey hit his second 2-Run home run of the night.

The back and forth scoring went on the remainder of the game, until the 7th when the Westerners bullpen shut down the Bay Sox. The Westerners edged the Bay Sox at a score of 10-7.

The Danbury Westerners improve to 2-0, as the Bay Sox are 0-2 on the season. The Bay Sox next game is scheduled for Saturday in their home opener vs. the Newport Gulls. Game time is scheduled for 6:30 and can be viewed online on the NECBL Broadcast network.
