Westerners Need Host Families for 2013

In less that 40 days a unique group of individuals will be arriving in western Connecticut to represent the 2013 Danbury Westerners, and some of them still have no place to stay!
Every summer NCAA athletes come to Danbury to play for the Danbury Westerners. They come from across our nation & some globally to participate in the prestigious New England Collegiate Baseball League where they play forty-two games in sixty days.
Our Host Family program is the foundation of our team's success both on and off the field. Living with a local family makes their stay in Danbury a home away from home and improves the quality of their experience. We believe you'll find that the players become so much more than a guest; they become part of your family.
What does it take to be a Host Family?
- Willingness to welcome a young athlete into your home and provide a private bedroom for the summer. (First week of June generally through the first week of August)
- Your home should be in close proximity to Danbury, CT.
- Food arrangements are up to you. Because of the players' extensive schedule, most host families simply keep food available and the players help themselves.
- Most players have their own cars for transportation. For those who don't, we pair them up with those who do.
Benefits of being a Host Family?
- The players quickly become a part of your family. You'll build relationships that last a lifetime!
- Your immediate family will receive season tickets so you'll be able to watch collegiate level baseball all summer long.
- If you have young athletes of your own, the players serve as excellent mentors.
- Some of our players get drafted into Major League Baseball. Maybe your player will be our next player drafted.
