Westerners Announce Bobby Valentine to Speak at Annual Breakfast

The Danbury Westerners, the longest tenured team in the New England Collegiate Baseball League, are proud to announce that it will be having its 17th Annual Celebrity Breakfast on June 10th at the Amber Room Colonnade in Danbury, CT.

The annual Celebrity Breakfast welcomes the 2011 Danbury Westerners to the greater Western CT community. In addition, the Danbury Westerners are thrilled to announce that former major league ballplayer and manager, as well as former Japanese Pacific League manager and current ESPN analyst Bobby Valentine will be their special speaker at the event.

Bobby Valentine resides in Stamford CT. Since 1980 he has operated Bobby Valentine's Sports Gallery Café in Stamford. Sports Illustrated recognized Bobby as one of the greatest athletes of the 20th century from Connecticut.

Paul Schaffer, President of the Danbury Westerners, commented, "We are very fortunate to have one of the most knowledgeable baseball minds in Bobby Valentine speak at our annual breakfast, where we will also introduce the 2011 team to our fans and sponsors. Bobby has had a remarkable career in baseball spanning over forty years, and I'm sure the 2011 Westerners, along with those in attendance, will learn something new."
