Western Oregon's Risseeuw Rejoins Thunder
July 31, 2014 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Portland Thunder News Release
PORTLAND, Ore. - Fullback and linebacker Dustin Risseeuw (pronounced Ri-zoo) was assigned to the Thunder by the AFL Thursday as Portland gears up for its first playoff game in franchise history.
"Dustin's a talented, versatile player," said Head Coach Matthew Sauk. "Last time he was on the field for us, he recovered two bar balls and scored a rushing touchdown - we need guys to make big plays like that this weekend."
A fullback from Western Oregon University, Risseeuw (6-2, 280) was one of three Thunder players whose impressive performance at the pre-season open tryout earned AFL contracts. Risseeuw made a major impact in the Thunder game he played, creating two turnovers for the Thunder and scoring a touchdown against the division rival San Jose SaberCats.
Sunday's game will air on CSNNW at 3 p.m. PDT. It will be streamed online on ESPN3, and broadcast via radio on 750 AM and 102.7 FM The Game. For all the latest news and discussion on the Portland Thunder, follow the team on Facebook (facebook.com/PDXThunder), Twitter and Instagram (@PDXThunder).
