ELMA, N.Y. ( Monday, January 12, 2015 ) - Hometown fans will get their first look at the reinvented Western New York Flash on Saturday, May 2 when the Flash kickoff the 2015 National Women's Soccer League home campaign against the Boston Breakers at Sahlen's Stadium in Rochester.
The Flash and Breakers have an established history, with matchups dating back to the days of WPS. The two clubs continued their rivalry into the 2012 WPSL-Elite season before both were selected as founding members of the NWSL.
In 7 NWSL meetings, the Flash have an all-time record of 2-3-2 against the Breakers, having gone 2-2-0 in home games vs. Boston.
Kickoff time and individual ticket information for the game will be announced at a later date. The complete 2015 NWSL schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
