EDINBURG, Texas - In the second game of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers All-Valley Showcase, the West boys' win 111-100 over East at Bert Ogden Arena.

The first quarter of the matchup was taken by the West boys 36-21. West side continued leading the way over East, going into the half 51-43.

West led the third frame 79-68 and kept it throughout the last quarter of the game.

Los Fresnos High School Gerry Martinez led the game with 17 points, scoring three from beyond the arc for the East side. Weslaco High School's Leonard Smith scored 14 points and Vince Peralez tallied 13. Santa Maria High School Bernie Castellanos scored 12 points, while Raymondville High School tallied 10.

For the West squad, McHi Darren Manriquez led with 14 points, while Sharyland Pioneer High School Miguel Gonzalez and Mission Veterans Jacob Arenas each scored 12 points. The West side had three to score 10 points each; PSJA North Eli De La Garza, Mission Veterans AJ Gonzaquez and Hidalgo High School Kyle Perales.

The All-Valley Showcase marks the 11th annual games that the Vipers hosts to show the Valley's talent.
